AI Model Picker

Answer six questions about the job and get the size of AI model to start with, where it should run and what to watch for.

Results

Model size to start with: Mid-size, all-round model

Examples: Claude Sonnet, the standard GPT models or Gemini Pro

Why: The best balance of quality, speed and cost for most business work.

Where it should run: A business (API or team) plan that does not train on your data

Models change every few months, so treat the names as examples of a size, not a recommendation of one product. Before you commit, try the top two on 20 of your own real examples and compare the answers, the speed and the bill.

How it works

Each answer moves the score up or down: harder tasks, higher stakes and long documents need a more capable model; high volumes and people waiting for answers favour a smaller, faster one. The score picks small, mid-size or most capable. Where it runs follows from how sensitive the information is.
