Trimec

Australia’s leading electric strike manufacturer since 1990, now an ASSA ABLOY brand.

Trimec is an Australian-founded manufacturer specialising in electric strikes, electromagnetic locks and electromechanical bolts, acquired by ASSA ABLOY in 2000 and now operated as part of ASSA ABLOY Australia. Its products form the electrified locking hardware behind almost every card-reader or keypad-controlled door — the strike or bolt that physically releases when a valid credential is presented.

Its current flagship, the ES8100 V-Lock, is designed and assembled in Australia with a 100kg pre-load rating, integrated door position monitoring, onboard diagnostics, tolerance for door misalignment, an IP53 rating for external doors and simple one-step fail-safe/fail-secure configuration on site. The ES2000 stainless-steel range is rated to 850kg holding force with a 1-million-cycle endurance rating for high-traffic or high-security doors. Because Trimec is engineered and locally supported for Australian door hardware and building codes, integrators get strikes pre-matched to common local door and frame configurations, reducing on-site fabrication and compliance risk.
