DirectIP recorders, or IDIS Solution Suite

Smaller sites run on DirectIP cameras and recorders alone. Larger and multi-site jobs add IDIS Solution Suite over the top. The cameras are the same either way, so a site can start small and grow.

A-Cut and AI Search

Edge AI Plus cameras tag people by gender, age range, glasses, hats, masks and bags, and vehicles by type and colour. A-Cut crops each sighting so a search across cameras is quick to read.

No gaps in recording

If a camera loses its link, it records to its own SD card and copies the footage back to the NVR once the link returns. Critical Failover adds a standby recorder that takes over if a primary one fails.

Intelligent Codec

Intelligent Codec trims the bit rate on top of H.265, and Motion Adaptive Transmission sends less when nothing moves. IDIS puts the combined saving at up to 90% against H.264, depending on the scene.

    Camera positions, recorder sizing and retention worked out from the site drawings, with DirectIP or Solution Suite matched to the size of the job.

  2. Install and commission

    Cameras mounted, cabled to the recorder, paired and focused, with analytics zones set up and failover tested before handover.

  3. Connect to monitoring

    Alarms and analytics events can come through to our monitoring centre for after-hours response.

  4. Look after it

    Firmware, licence changes and health checks handled on a maintenance plan, so the system stays current and supported.

IDIS was founded in 1997 near Seoul, South Korea, where it still has its headquarters and manufacturing, and describes itself as South Korea's largest video surveillance manufacturer, working through more than 100 strategic partners across 50 countries. It designs and makes its own cameras, NVRs and DVRs around its DirectIP framework: IDIS IP cameras and NVRs authenticate each other automatically over PoE, which IDIS describes as zero-configuration, plug-and-play installation without the network setup standard IP systems usually need. For integrators that means faster commissioning, while ONVIF support keeps third-party cameras usable on mixed-brand sites.

On the software side, the range runs from IDIS Center, a free, licence-free VMS for smaller sites, up to IDIS Solution Suite for large and multi-site deployments, with IDIS Cloud Manager for cloud-based site management. IDIS Deep Learning Analytics adds object classification plus intrusion and loitering detection under a one-off licence with no annual fee. For government and regulated projects, IDIS states its products meet NDAA and TAA requirements and FIPS 140-3, alongside ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification. Its H.265 DirectIP NVRs carry a standard warranty of five years and three months, and IDIS products are distributed in Australia through Dicker Data.
