Avigilon designs end-to-end video security systems — cameras, recorders and VMS — built around self-learning AI analytics rather than bolt-on add-ons. Acquired by Motorola Solutions in 2018, the brand now spans two architectures: Avigilon Unity for on-premises deployments needing full local control, and Avigilon Alta, a cloud-native platform for sites wanting infrastructure-light access control and video.

High-resolution multisensor cameras use H.265 compression to reduce storage and bandwidth loads, while onboard analytics — appearance search, licence-plate recognition, facial matching, unusual-motion detection — reduce the manual review burden for operators. Deep integration with Motorola's broader public-safety and unified-command ecosystem is a genuine differentiator where a customer already runs Motorola radio or dispatch infrastructure.
